Mrs. Olufunke Oluyemi

Mrs. Olufunke Oluyemi began her career at the Oyo State Civil Service School, where she trained as a Confidential Secretary/Personal Assistant and subsequently went to work in the state’s Governor’s office, from where she later moved to the University of Lagos College of Medicine. She pursued greater opportunities for herself and her family by relocating to the United States in 1995. 

Funke fulfilled her long-life dream of getting University education while raising her children and working full-time. She earned the degrees of Bachelor of Sociology, Master of Public Administration (with emphasis in Emergency Preparedness), and Diploma in Human Resource Management. She worked in various Higher Institutions of Learning such as Kean University in New Jersey, California State University, Fullerton and most recently California State Polytechnic, Pomona.

Funke became the first Vice President of IGSOSANA in 2001at the first Convention in Washington DC. She has great passion for education because she believes it is empowering and she has consistently helped others to achieve their educational aspirations through volunteering and sponsorships. She is married to Dr Victor Adedayo Oluyemi, and they are blessed with four children and grandchildren.
